WikiCoaster ("the app", "we") is a mobile application that lets you check theme-park ride wait times, rate attractions, and share with a community. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what your rights are. By using the app, you accept the practices described here.

1. Data controller

2. Data we collect

We only collect the data necessary for the app to work:

• Account: email address, password (stored encrypted, never in clear text), username, biography, and profile picture (optional).
• Content you create: ratings, reviews, visits, reported wait times, photos, posts, comments, likes, wishlist, follows, as well as the reports and blocks you make.
• Preferences: favorite parks, community channel, display theme, notification settings.
• Notifications: if you enable them, a push notification identifier (Expo token) to send you your wait-time alerts.
• Subscription (WikiCoaster Plus): your subscription status. Payments are handled by Apple / Google; we never receive or store your payment details.
• Usage measurement: post-display statistics (e.g. time spent on a post) used to rank your feed. This data is not used for advertising.
• Technical data: minimal information provided by your device during requests (required for the service to work).

We do not collect your GPS location. Wait times are shown in the local time of the relevant park, computed from the app's configuration, not from your phone's location.

3. Why we use this data (legal bases)

• Provide the service (account creation, ratings, feed, wait times) — performance of the contract.
• Send you the alerts you configured — your consent.
• Manage Plus subscriptions — performance of the contract.
• Ensure safety and moderation (reports, blocks) — legitimate interest.

4. Service providers and data sharing

We never sell your data. It is processed by strictly necessary providers:

• Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and photo storage.
• Expo — delivery of push notifications.
• RevenueCat, Apple, Google — subscription and payment management.
• themeparks.wiki — source of live wait times (no personal data is sent to it).

Your posts, reviews, username, and profile picture are visible to other users according to the visibility settings you choose (public, followers, private).

5. Data retention

Your account data and content are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, they are erased. Wait times collected for historical purposes are aggregated and kept for a limited period of time.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data. You can:

• edit your profile directly in the app (Settings);
• delete your account and all your data from the app (Settings → Account → Delete my account);
• contact us at wikicoaster@gmail.com for any request.

7. User-generated content and moderation

The app lets you publish content. Abusive content can be reported or hidden by blocking a user. We handle reports and may remove content or suspend an account that breaks our rules. To report content, email wikicoaster@gmail.com.

8. Children

The app is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data about children.

9. Security

Data is hosted on a secure infrastructure, access to your content is controlled by database-level security rules, and passwords are stored encrypted.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. In case of a significant change, we will inform you within the app. The date at the top of the page indicates the last update.
